Announcing City of Vampires: The Old Library

Postby Chikako » Sat Oct 28, 2006 4:01 pm

The Old Library is thought to be the first library in the City of Vampires. Though the number of volumes are limited, borrowers are surprised to find works thought lost in ages past or tomes written by the Great Old Ones. Powerful, dark enchantments keep any volume from being removed from the Old Library without the express permission of the Librarian. The Old Library is second model in Volume 1 of the City of Vampires series.

So far I have both Elven Villages and Haunted Villages (and some of the other sets are on various wishlists). That's 4 complete sets or 32 individual buildings. Almost all buildings are very versatile in so far as they can be used in genres other than 'Elven' or 'Victorian/Haunted' and that is very good.

This set looks to be more theme-specific like the Halfling , Dwarven and Faerie sets but none the less, another "must have" series. I'm curious what you'll come up with next in this set...

btw. I also have your Arajishi-jo Gate. That is one super model!! Any other Japanese buildings/houses (Tea House, Garden Pavilion/Gazebo etc) on the horizon?

Thanks for the great models.

Im really glad you like our models :-)

In fact, we just released City of Vampires: The House of Martina the Poisener and Faerie Village Woodshaper.

This set is a little different from the others - its more urban from the get go, and you'll find some of them have more bits based around a character concept. For example, upstairs in the house of Martina, you'll find a small lab for creating poisens.

The artist who did the Japanese models is the one now finishing up Faerie Village Volume 1. He has been begging to do another Japanese one but we havent settled on what it will be yet. Any preferences? :-)

Thanks for the reply. The City of Vampires is turning into a very interesting series... definately goes on my must have list.

Martina the Poisener – reminds me of a joke I heard long ago…

A: - “This woman had 4 husbands, they all died, the first from eating poison mushrooms.”

B: - “What a shame – what happened to the second?”

A: - “He too died from eating poison mushrooms.”

B: - “That’s an amazing coincidence – and the third?”

A: - “…died from eating poison mushrooms”

B: - “Wow, that’s strange. Let me guess, the fourth husband also died from eating poison mushrooms.”

A: - “No, he died from a concussion to the head.”

B: - “Huh?”

A: - “Yeah, he wouldn’t eat the poison mushrooms…”
